the oils we use in our soaps and the benefits

Olive Oil

Olive Oil is a traditional emollient used in soap because it is mild and gives a “moisturized feel” to the soap. It contains three major antioxidants: vitamin E, polyphenols, and phytosterols, which can help restore skin smoothness and it doesn’t clog pores.

Sunflower Oil

Sunflower oil is very similar to olive oil, but it has a lighter/cleaner feel to it. The skin feels nice when sunflower oil is used. It contains a high level of vitamin E. It helps the skin retain its moisture and form a protective barrier over the skin.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter makes a creamier bar with a more “moisturized feel.” It protects and nourishes the skin to prevent drying. It also helps with skin blemishes.

Organic Palm Oil

Organic renewable and sustainable palm oil is used to help reduce the problem of deforestation in tropical regions. Palm oil is used to make a harder, stable bar of soap. It helps keep skin soft and supple and prevent sun damage.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil adds to hardness and creates “big bubbles” in soap. It gives good lather. It is another good oil that protects the skin from damaging sunrays. It helps keep skin smooth.

natural fragrances

Essential Oil is a naturally derived plant fluid (usually by distillation of the plant) extracted from bark, leaf, or petals of the plant. Essential oil is usually a “pure”, single plant oil, example “Patchouli essential oil” will be from the “Patchouli” leaf. The FDA requires a blend of essential oils to be listed separately on labels or called “Fragrance.” To protect the essential oil blend that may be mixed with other natural raw materials used, the term “Natural Fragrance” is used to inform you that this fragrance is indeed of natural origin.
